Introduction
As a "computer nerd next door", I am really having a hard time trying to do the perfect gardening after 10 hours of computer stuff and 2 hours driving every day.

Having said that, taking care of a vege gardening is not only healthy (for both fitness and diet), but also a very fulfilling activity. Hence I have decided to take up this hobby on a casual basis.

This vegelog is simply my "Green Diary" detailing what and how I have done to the garden, and what kind of harvest I am getting.

One important lesson I have learnt is to get off your butt and do something, right now. Seeds don't grow in bags, so the sooner you plant them, the earlier you can taste the success (or failure).

I hope by sharing this vegelog, others will realise how easy it is to start your own vege garden. My garden is not bound by any rules, gardening bible or scientific reasoning, if I can get something out of it, so can you.

All comments and suggestions are welcome. If you want to publish your vegelog here, please let me know and I have arrange a special section for you.

I've got the first flower from the cucumber plants 40 days after sowing. I'm not sure if the flower is going to stick, because usually the first batch is going to drop as the plants are still too young.

Cucumber Day 40Cucumber On Trellis

I have also moved all the cucumber plants to the trellis, which was until now occupied by the snow peas. I have had to tie both cucumbers and snow peas almost every second day as they're growing very fast at the moment.

As it's now approaching winter, the weather is getting windier, and I don't want to risk any of them breaking.

It's been quite windy in the last couple of days, so I thought it is timely to start securing those snow peas to the trellis. Last year most of them were damaged by moderate some intensive wind, or heavy rain, and it was not a pretty sight.

As I mentioned before, even though the plants don't seem to be affected much by the broken/bent vines, it is still a good idea to protect the plants to maximize growth and harvest.

Securing Snow PeasThe cucumbers are really growing now, I expect to move them to the trellis as well in another few days. Unfortunately I only have one trellis left behind by the previous tenant (Thanks!), so they will have to fight over the space with the snow peas.

Actually the stronger cucumber vines might be a good companion for the snow peas, as the latter can sort of lean on the former.

Snow peas seem to climb a bit higher than the cucumbers, so there should be plenty of room for every one.
